Possession and Use
Within South Australia, it is an offence to:
- Possess a prohibited drug
- Possess equipment for administration of prohibited drugs
- Self administer prohibited drugs or allow another to administer drugs to you.
The maximum penalty for possession of cocaine, amphetamines or MDMA is two years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $2000.
Manufacture/Trafficking
It is an offence to manufacture or traffic amphetamines, cocaine or MDMA in South Australia or to possess many of the items and substances required in the production of these substances.
The penalty structure for the trafficking, manufacturing, sale, or cultivation of controlled drugs or plants depends on the quantity of the drug. The higher the amount of the drug or plant, the higher the penalty.
